What to expect in week 6

After running 20 minutes without stopping, week 6 gives you walk breaks again, which can read like the plan demoting you. The numbers say otherwise. Day 1 is 18 minutes of running, split 5, 8 and 5. Day 2 is two ten-minute runs: 20 minutes of running, exactly the total you already covered in one piece last week, just divided in half. Day 3 then adds two minutes on top of your best: 22 minutes, continuous.

So until that last session, nothing this week asks for a single run longer than the 20 minutes you've already done. Day 1's longest piece is eight minutes; Day 2's is ten. The walk breaks aren't a step backwards, they're how the week builds up your total running without asking for back-to-back continuous efforts.

If Day 1 feels frustratingly easy after week 5, that's the plan working, not you regressing.
